Eligibility & Admission Process (Foreign Nationals)

  • The candidates possessing the citizenship of a country other than India will only be considered under this Category. The candidates who possess citizenship of a country other than India and hold a valid passport shall be eligible to apply under this category.
  • The candidates belonging to Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO) category may apply under the OCI/PIO category as well as under the category of Indian students separately (They have to submit the two different application forms i.e. one for India National and another for OCI/PIO category). In case the OCI/PIO candidates apply under the category of Indian National, they have to appear in the All Indian Law Entrance Test along with other Indian students.
    Note:
    • Definition of Foreign Nationals: The candidates who possess citizenship of a country other than India and hold a valid passport of Foreign Country.
    • Definition of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO): as notified by the Govt. of India.
  • The Foreign Nationals are exempted from taking the Written Entrance Examination.
  • The admission of candidates under this category shall be made based on satisfying the prescribed criteria mentioned below:

    Academic record of Bachelor's Degree (For M.A. Programme) or LL.B. or equivalent Degree (For LL.M.     Grades and TOEFL/IELTS scores will be given 70%* weightage (50% + 20% respectively), with conversion of academic grades through AIU (Association of Indian Universities) Standards.The remaining 30% weightage will be allocated with distribution of 15% each between the interview and written personal statements submitted during filing of the application.
    * The requirements of IELTS/TOEFL shall be waived for applicants who have earned the eligibility degree at an Institution in which the medium of instruction was English. In cases of waiver, the weightage of 20% in lieu of IELTS/TOEFL scores shall be apportioned to academic grades (i.e. Academic Grades weightage shall be counted for 70%).
